Announcing our 2025 federal policy platform
February 19, 2025
The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger has officially launched its 2025 Federal Policy Platform, outlining concrete priorities that support its three key initiatives: Food Sovereignty, Nutrition Program Administration, and Supporting Coloradans.
In partnership with national allies, our policy priorities focus on protecting and strengthening critical federal nutrition programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). We are committed to protecting SNAP benefits, renewing the Older Americans Act, and securing full funding for WIC so every eligible participant receives the support they need.
Beyond nutrition programs, we are tackling the root causes of hunger by advocating for expansions of the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), both of which are proven tools for boosting economic mobility and supporting families across Colorado.
The Blueprint also prioritizes equitable access to healthy, affordable, and culturally affirming foods. Our efforts include protecting consumer choice and autonomy, expanding evidence-based nutrition incentive programs, and strengthening initiatives like the USDA Restaurant Meals Program, which accounts for the diverse needs of SNAP recipients.
As the policy landscape shifts, the Blueprint’s Policy & Community Justice team remains committed to adapting and responding to the needs of our broad, statewide network. These priorities serve as a guiding framework, ensuring we stay focused and proactive in navigating the evolving federal policy environment.
