TOOLKITS & OTHER RESOURCES

Here are resources from the Blueprint and network partners that will help ensure more people in Colorado can access nourishing food where they want it and when they need it.

SNAP Certification for Retailers Toolkit

This free toolkit, released in July 2024, simplifies the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application process for retailers.

Created by members of the Blueprint’s SNAP/WIC Retailers Project, it aims to bolster the number of small grocery stores and corner stores that accept SNAP benefits while also increasing the affordability and availability of healthy and culturally preferable food offered by small businesses in Colorado.

Anti-Hunger Community Toolkit

Assess and advocate for your local food system by utilizing this free toolkit, created in partnership with the Blueprint’s former workgroup focused on public and political will and the Colorado Health Institute. (It’s also available in Español.)

Released in 2021, this resource aims to support Coloradans as they assess the strengths and gaps in their local food systems and arm them with the knowledge needed to advocate for changes in their community.

Food Program Marketing Resources

Based on feedback from the community, the Blueprint network curated a small list of food program marketing resources and best practices for use.

All resources on this page are free for your download and use.

Toolkits & Resources for Healthcare Providers

Trusted healthcare providers can be a critical link to identifying food insecurity for families and supporting their efforts to connect with healthy, affordable food options.

We offer a provider toolkit, in addition to other resources for enrolling and increasing participation by Medicaid Members in SNAP and WIC.

Understanding Food Access Programs

It can be tough to understand our food system. Particularly challenging are the various food access programs with differing rules and communities they reach. It’s important to do this if we hope to reimagine how our food system could work more equitably for more people.

To help, we’ve collected some resources to explain how the system works spanning everything from the view of families currently trying to use the system to how federal, state, and local policies interact.
