EQUITY RESOURCES
The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger offers the following resources to ensure organizations have a framework and peer support for implementing equity within their daily practices, policies, and procedures.
Equity Challenge & Peer Learning Series
Join us for a yearlong equity challenge! Through the resources below, Blueprint consultant Vaishnavi Hariprasad guides organizations through a one-year equity challenge to help kickstart or continue their own equity journey.
Access the recordings and slides from our peer learning sessions (held live in 2023 - 2024), which cover different topics:
Session #1: Formulating an Equity Strategy
To kick off, we cover how to formulate a plan for a yearly equity goal or strategy plan, based on the Blueprint’s Equity Continuum. We share a few organizations — each in a different phase of their equity journey ranging from assessing readiness to identifying strategy, etc. — to provide participants with an array of examples that roughly follows the steps outlined below under “other resources.”

Other Resources
Formulating an Equity Strategy:
Here’s how to formulate a plan for a yearly equity goal or strategy plan, based on the Blueprint’s Equity Continuum (below):
Step 1: Determine your why — Understand your organization's and community's motivations for equity work.
Step 2: Assess readiness — Identify where you see readiness in your organization.
Step 3: Develop your strategy — Identify areas where your organization is already leaning into equity and opportunities for improvement.
Step 4: Assess inputs and set your goals — Evaluate the resources available (like staff and volunteer time, financial resources, etc.) and establish short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
Step 5: Draft an equity strategy for the year — Create a concrete plan that outlines your organization's actions and commitments.
Blueprint’s Equity Continuum:
This practical, self-assessment tool aims to provide partners — those working to alleviate hunger and poverty — with a way to assess your organization's progression in shifting policies, practices, programs, and measures to advance equitable outcomes. It can be a helpful framework and educational tool for conversations with staff, strategic planning with boards, project and policy development, and advancement of community leadership.
