Celebrating inaugural cohort of our Advocacy Leadership Academy
January 8, 2025
Last fall, the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger proudly relaunched its Advocacy Leadership Academy with fresh content and a new name. We recently celebrated the graduation of our inaugural cohort —12 passionate community members who successfully completed the eight-week program.
Revamped for beginners in the policy and advocacy space, the program equips participants with the tools they need to become effective advocacy leaders. It focuses on building skills in community organizing, power-building, and grassroots advocacy.
Graduates engaged in interactive learning sessions that covered topics such as the fundamentals of advocacy, navigating the Colorado legislature, “cutting” an issue, and designing impactful grassroots campaigns.
The Fall 2024 cohort reflects diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including participants with firsthand experience using public benefits and addressing food insecurity. Several graduates bring valuable insights from working with organizations like Boulder Food Rescue, Food Bank of the Rockies, Jefferson County Food Policy Council, and MIEL organization.
Additionally, many have demonstrated exceptional leadership in food-access advocacy by actively contributing to Blueprint committees and projects.
We’re thrilled to see these graduates bring their knowledge and skills back to their communities to champion impactful policy and advocacy campaigns on the issues that matter most to them. The Blueprint team plans to continue supporting these emerging leaders as they drive meaningful change in their communities.
Please help us congratulate the Fall 2024 cohort of our Advocacy Leadership Academy!
