Transformation update: Wrapping up & beginning to transition
May 28, 2024
The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger has officially concluded its yearlong strategic planning and transformation process! Earlier this month, our Governing Council unanimously approved the Blueprint’s new framework and structure – and we’re ready to share a little more about what this means for our future.
Watch this video message (or read more below) from Dolores Ramirez, our Executive Director of Vision, as she dives into where the Blueprint is headed in the coming weeks and months.
We also want to give special thanks to our Governing Council, program office team, and network members, along with Point b(e) Strategies, for their guidance and support throughout this transformative process.
Our vision will remain the same:
A Colorado where every person living here can access the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it.
But this is how we’ll move towards and achieve our long-term goals and vision (new theory of change):
Through purpose-driven convening, resource distribution, thought leadership, and a bold policy agenda, the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger will continue to activate a statewide network to collectively achieve food sovereignty for all living in Colorado.
With this vision and mission, we’re shifting away from the original plan’s five goals to these four new commitments. They are the new pillars for our organization’s foundation that will drive our work forward:
Convene stakeholders around shared priorities
Support local solutions to local problems
Strengthen resources & build capacity
Champion bold policy change
We’re in the midst of structuring the Blueprint’s operations to fulfill these new commitments. This includes:
Shifting the way we carry out our work to better meet the needs expressed by the Blueprint’s community
Leaning into the expertise we hold and taking a more hands-on approach as we co-create solutions with community
And expanding our program office team and hiring new staff over the next several months
So how does this impact our network of partners, exactly? Here’s what you can expect during our organizational transition:
Sunsetting all workgroups by July
Wrapping up some project teams with others continuing for awhile
Continuing all existing committees (data & evaluation, federal policy, and state policy) with new ones to be introduced later this year
Looking at other spaces currently held by the Blueprint, such as the frequency of the food access update meetings
Next month, we’ll provide a comprehensive overview of our new framework and structure – and what this means for our network of partners over the next few months. It will cover:
Our new organizational framework, goals, and structure – and how we’re becoming more intentional
Participation across meetings going forward
Which project teams will continue for a while
Continuation of existing committees and what new ones will be introduced
What other spaces will be held by the Blueprint – and what may be missing
And how you can stay informed and engaged during this transition
In the meantime, we encourage you to subscribe to our newsletter and email updates for the latest news on the Blueprint’s transformation.
