Meeting uncertainty together
November 12, 2024
Like many of you, we’re reckoning with the recent election results – and reflecting on what this outcome may mean for our democracy, our communities, and our collective work, as well as those on our team and in our network.
There’s much uncertainty around the future for our nation, and a lot of us are heavy with anxiety, anger, fear, despair, and grief because of that. But here’s what we can tell you: We plan to meet the uncertainty together and continue to do our best every day.
The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger won’t stop making progress toward its vision of everyone having access to the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it. Our team remains steadfast in our values and commitments to all of you.
Collectively, we’ll continue to advocate for equitable food access and community-led food systems. Access to healthy, affordable, and culturally affirming food should be a basic human right, and communities should have the power to choose what they eat, where it comes from, how it’s grown, and when it's available.
We’ll continue to center and elevate the most marginalized and push for systems that reflect our shared values of justice and equity. And, we’ll address issues as they arise and adjust accordingly, which will become more relevant than ever in how we shift power to local communities for their own self-determination.
The work we do with dedication and love each day is important, but right now, more than anything, we encourage you to stay safe, take time for yourself, and find care and support within your community. We’ll welcome you back when you’re ready to rejoin our spaces.
The Blueprint’s priorities are co-created with you – those in our network and the communities that you represent and serve. We remain ready to receive your direction in what Colorado communities need and will continue to identify shared opportunities for positive change together.
In solidarity,
